What happened to the Vintage Trailer Jam?
A: The base price for a trailer and one adult is $185, for three days (June 3-6). Kids under age 15 in the same trailer are FREE. You can add more adults for $60 each. Upgrading to include additional days is $30 per day.
Q: What do I get with my registration fee?
A: Three to five nights of camping, rally electric, water, dump station, access to seminars all week, a “goody bag” with discounts and information, live entertainment on two nights, factory tours, access to Jackson Center Community Days (short walk away in town) with live concerts on three nights, a barbecue on Saturday, nightly movies, car show, and daily door prize drawings.
Plus, you can bring all the kids (as long as they are all staying in your trailer) for free!
Want even more? OK, you can also buy wristbands for unlimited access to rides at Jackson Center Days for $5 off the regular price. Visit our online store for details.
Q: Can I register by phone or mail?
A: Yes! Call us at 802-877-2900 extension 4. We’ll work out the details and either register you with your credit card or give you an address to mail a check.
Q: What is Jackson Center Days and where is it?
A: The local community has organized a festival to be held in downtown Jackson Center. This is just a few blocks away from the Airstream factory. You can drive or walk over. The festival includes a street carnival, amusement rides, live bands on three nights, a craft show, car show, and more. For details about last year’s festival, click here.
Much of Jackson Center Community Days is free (including the nightly bands).
Q: I don’t have an Airstream. Can I still come?
A: Yes! If you aspire to own an Airstream, come on over and check out the people and the product! You’ll learn everything you want to know about them. Any brand of RV is welcome to attend.
Q: Will there be showers and bathrooms?
No showers, but there will be portable toilets on site.
Q: Can I drip my gray water on the ground?
A: No, please bring a portable tank (”blue boy”) and dump it the dump station near the camping area. You can also haul your trailer over to dump anytime, or use the station when you depart.
Q: What utilities will I get on-site?
A: Alumapalooza 2010 will offer 3-amp “rally electric”, and access to water and dump station. If you wish to hook up to water, bring 100 feet of water hose and a Y-connector. Trailers will be “daisy chained” to a central water supply.
Q: Can I get 30-amp electric to run my air conditioner?
A: Sorry, no, but you can elect to park in the generator section and provide your own power. Be sure to check the “Generator section” option when you register. Note that generator sites will not have electrical connections supplied, so if you park in those spaces, you’re on your own for power.
Q: What’s the 3-amp power hookup good for?
A: It’s for keeping your battery charged. Use only 12-volt lights and appliances, and you’ll be fine. Fridges should be on “propane” setting during the event.
Q: Will there be a vintage section?
A: Not specifically. All parking will be self-parking. So, if there’s space when you arrive, you can park together with friends. But please, don’t “save” spaces for people who aren’t yet on site.
Q: I’m a vegetarian. Is there an alternative to the barbecue dinner available?
A: Yes. This year we are offering a vegetarian lasagna. Be sure to check the “Vegetarian Meal” option box for each registered person who wants it.
A: Yes. Dogs should be on leash while in the camping area. There is open space to run your dog nearby.
Q: What is the “(Not camping) Seminars and Dinner” fee and what does it cover?
A: The walk-in fee is for anyone who isn’t camped on-site but wants to attend the events. For $60 you will get credentials allowing you to attend all the workshops, seminars, entertainment, and the Saturday night barbecue dinner. You’ll also be eligible for door prizes, and get the “swag bag” with coupons and goodies.
Q: Where’s Alumapalooz being held, exactly?
A: Click here for directions to the factory in Jackson Center and a map right to the campground.
Q: Is there an official press release?
A: Yes, click here to download the Alumapalooza Press Release.
Q: Where can I discuss this event with other people are coming?
A: There’s a discussion going on at AirForums about Alumapalooza. That’s a good place to “meet” other participants and make plans in advance of the event. We also have an official Alumapalooza Facebook page, and you can follow Alumapalooza on Twitter.
Q: What else is there to do in the area?
A: See our article in the Spring 2010 issue of Airstream Life magazine, or click here for a list of ideas.
A: No, it’s more. Alumapalooza combines all the camaraderie of a rally with the educational benefit of a seminar (and the entertainment of a festival!) Just the seminars alone will be invaluable. You’ll get plenty of opportunity to pick the brains of people who travel extensively, the folks at the Airstream factory, people who renovate and customize trailers, European Airstream owners, and other owners who are happy to exchange knowledge with you. Plus you’ll enjoy exploring Airstream’s factory, service center, live entertainment, slide presentations, and much more.
Q: What happened to the Vintage Trailer Jam?
A: The Vintage Trailer Jam will not be held in 2010, but Alumapalooza is produced by some of the same folks. If you liked VTJ (and who didn’t?) you’ll like Alumapalooza!
